Andrew: I think we're in trouble.
Summary
Andrew's assignment for his journalism class is to do a video piece
on a day in the life of someone he respects. He chooses Dr. J
because he is the only one around all the time. But Dr. J picks this
time to get a regular job at MacroPlex industries as a consultant.
This job is in addition to his current project working on a portable
chemical analyser.
During a lunch break, Dr. J loses control of his orange which rolls
into a puddle of nasty looking green gook on the ground. The gook
had dripped from some overhead pipes. The effect of the gook on
the orange knocks some enviornmental sense into Dr. J. He manifests
this sense by making a pair of compressed air cans for Andrew to use
when "flying is unavoidable".
Dr. J reveals his suspicions that MacroPlex is dumping toxic waste
to Andrew, who promptly turns around and breaks the chemical
analyser: the one means by which the suspicions could be validated.
Andrew attempts to make up for his clumsiness by getting the hard
evidence needed with the video camera. He flies into the plant and
films some horrendous sights, but on the way out, he slips in another
puddle of green gook and ruins his jacket and the film. Fortunately, this
is first season and Andrew is still invulnerable.
The next day, Dr. J confronts the head of MacroPlex who denies any
knowledge of the dumping and seemingly authorises Jeffcoate to do
a "detailed, confidential study". It's a hoax, of course, and Jeffcoate
makes the evening news in a big way.
Genius or no, Dr J manages to be set up again later that night. He
and Andrew are trapped inside the disposal site . . . with a bomb less
than two minutes from exploding. The team of Andrew and Dr. J
comes through in the end, though. Dr. J gets the door open in time
for Andrew to take the bomb to a place where it can explode in safety.
Although he does ruin another set of clothing in the process.
