Summary
Andrew is shooting hoops in the Briarwood gym when who should enter
but Bobby Spillman, Briarwood's greatest basketball player, who made the
NBA draft in 1983. Bobby gives Andrew some pointers and confides that
he's working across the street.
Meanwhile, Pro Basketball star Rick Downes is in town and Dr. J brags
to Andrew that he knows him. Stephanie is trying to find a Name for a
fundraiser and Andrew volunteers Rick via Dr. J. Andrew. When Dr. J goes to
ask Rick to participate, it comes out that he doesn't really know
Rick. But it turns out okay, because the cause is good enough that
Rick agrees to participate anyway. Not that Andrew gives him much of
a choice in the matter.
Andrew then goes to meddle in someone else's affairs. It seems
Bobby was afraid to try out for the NBA, thinking he wasn't good enough.
Andrew makes him feel guilty about both this and his refusal to go
one-on-one with Rick Downes.
As the big day approaches, Rick hones his skills by playing HORSE
with Andrew. It's Andrew's thrill of a lifetime since the acquisition of his
super-powers, which he naturally uses against Rick.
The event starts and ends, but no Bobby. Andrew is just about to give
up hope when Bobby finally arrives. Bobby and Rick go one on one
and Bobby gives Rick a run for his money.
