Andrew: It's not fair. I've got these amazing powers. I can do all
these great things, but I can't tell anyone about them. I may as well be a scientist.
Summary
Dr. J tries to teach Andrew a lesson in virtue. It seems Andrew is getting a
bit fed up with not receiving any recognition for his deeds as Ultraman.
Jeffcoate's lesson carries no weight, however, as his words don't even begin
to match his actions. He's in the process of inventing something for the
Navy that could earn him more than a little recognition.
The next day, Cassie Martin, a journalist for the school newspaper
stops by. She wants to interview Andrew. The two pass by
Jeffcoate's house on the way to school, and Dr. J asks Andrew to
pick up some ingredients for a special spaghetti sauce. The
person in the van parked across the street, monitering Dr. J in
hopes of acquiring the naval secret, thinks Andrew has been
entrusted with the "recipe" for the new invention.
Andrew and Cassie are kidnapped. Apparently their mothers never taught
them not to talk to strangers. Meanwhile, a strange, beautiful woman
appears at Dr. J's door. She asks to use his phone, but
appears to be interested in more than that. It's very difficult to make
an effective phone call when one talks to the dial-tone.
Cassie begins to suspect that Andrew isn't quite so ordinary because of
his courage in standing up to their kidnapper. But, she never sees his true
uniqueness. Andrew uses his superspeed to burn through his bonds, and
then flies out through a vent shaft, all while Cassie is tied up facing the
opposite direction. But, he's caught before he can free her. Their
kidnapper threatens to lock Cassie in the truck of a car unless they turn
over the code. Andrew makes her switch places with him.
The strange woman returns to Jeffcoate's house, supposedly to thank him
for his help earlier. She drugs his drink. As Dr. J grows tired, Andrew is
suffering a worse fate. A wreaking machine is about to destroy the car he's
locked in. Its destruction, however, provides his means of escape. One
can only wonder why his invulnerability was forgotten about when it's now
been the means to his salvation thrice in as many consecutive episodes.
Andrew and Cassie's kidnapper shows up at Dr. J's lab with Cassie in
tow, and runs into the gorgerous woman. It seems they're both spies
sent to ferret out Dr. J's secrets, but no one bothered to tell them they'd be working
on the same mission. Andrew arrives and changes everyone's plans. He
manages to trap them by using a voice-activated cabinet Dr. J has been
working on.
Andrew gets promoted in Cassie's eyes from ordinary person to super
amazing, despite her continued ignorance of his superpowers. And, for
sweet justice, the Navy loves Dr. J's invention but, because of the security
on it, can't give him any honour or credit.
