Summary

Andrew's now working for the school paper, but Cassie, the manager, informs him that he's a lousy reporter. In an effort to spare his feelings, she suggests that he try photography instead. Which Andrew agrees to do when he meets the other photographer, Beth.

In a panic, Andrew takes his new camera to Dr. J. However, Dr. J has better things to do than teach Andrew how to use it. He has pinpointed the chemical reaction that stimulates fast-twitch fibers and he's writing an article on it which he needs to get to Paris by the deadline. To those ends, he's bought a fax machine. He also loans Andrew a copy of his treatise to read.

Andrew's first assignment is a track meet -- which he spends photographing Beth photographing athletes. He then follows her home, loses track of her, has to float up to find her, and accidentally gets a great shot of some people robbing the school's computer lab. Erin stops by Dr. J's later looking for Andrew. She convinces Dr. J to tell her what his paper is about. As he starts explaining, she jumps in, already knowledgeable on the topic. But she can't remember where she heard about it. Dr. J now believes that someone else thought of his topic first and that he accidentally plagarised it.

Beth is upset when she learns that Andrew's picture of the computer thieves will be this week's cover picture. And Dr. J is upset when he learns that his article has gone to press already.

At the track finals, Cassie says it would be really neat to have a picture of both the start and the finish of the 100 meter. Andrew complies with a little super-help, and makes the next cover as well.

Dr. J is able to withdraw his article from publication. And right afterwards Erin returns the manuscript and explains that that's where she got her information. Dr. J rejoices in his knowledge that he didn't plagarise . . . then immediately calls Paris.

Back at Briarwood high school, Andrew tries to apologise for usurping Beth's position on the front page. She tells him to take the job if he wants it. Andrew tries to explain, can't find the words, and is interrupted by the fire alarm. There's a fire in the elementary school. He convinces Beth to go with him to take pictures.

There's a child trapped in the elementary school which the firemen can't get to. Andrew plays superhero for real and comes to the rescue, breaking into the school, and handing the child to the firemen. Beth gets the shot of the exchange, which makes the cover of a special edition of the paper. It's enough to convince her not to give up photography. She also agrees to a date with Andrew.
