Summary As Stephanie, Dr. J. and Andrew are preparing to go out, Kirk shows up and announces that he's going to see his father. Ever eager to help, Andrew offers to go with him. On the bus, Kirk reveals that he's had yet another in a long string of fights with his step-father. An amateur psychoanalyist who happens to be listening in on this conversation tries to diagnose Kirk, who gets offended and starts a fight. He and Andrew are kicked off the bus and left at a road stop. While Andrew calls home to let his mother know that he's okay, Kirk hitches a ride in a passing truck. Andrew superspeeds to catch up the truck and jumps in the bed, where he then falls alseep. He awakens to find that Kirk was dropped off a few miles back. He flies back to find his friend. The two start walking to their destination, Riverdale. Back home, Dr. J. stops by the Clements to check on Andrew, and stays to comfort Stephanie. For the first time in the series, we hear more about Andrew's father, Robert, than the mere fact of his death. As Kirk struggles to deal with the break-up of his family, Stephanie shares family stories about Robert. Andrew and Kirk arrive in Riverdale just in time to see Kirk's father get shot and fall from a cliff. They race to his rescuse, only to discover that they interrupted the filming of a movie. Kirk's father is a stunt man. Kirks spends the rest of the day and that night trying in vain to spend some time alone with his father. It isn't until the next morning, when a stunt Kirk is helping out with goes wrong, and his father comes to rescue, that Kirk realises his father really does love him. The boys return home with renewed and repaired relationships. Kirk now has his father back. And Andrew finds that his father is no longer a closed subject.
