Words from the archivist: Updated August 12, 2001 As any visitor to this archive can see, it's never quite reached my goal of becoming fully automated. The original archive was manually updated, and as my interest in Sliders fanfic waned, my interest in devoting the time necessary to the updating also waned. I had thought to keep the archive up and running by making it fully automated. However, because of my incompetence when it comes to CGI code, I kept breaking the code, and wasting a lot of time and frustration on this project. I found a solution which I hope will work. The manual archives will remain available in a much pared down format. Viewers can see stories listed only by author and title, with summaries where available. The automated archives will function only as a search engine. Normally, full automation also allows users to upload their own stories to the archives. This is the part I keep breaking, so this is the part that will not be brought online. Since I would like to see the archives fully functioning again, submissions will be accepted, but they must be sent directly to me. Further, I call on all readers and authors for help. I've been working on this conversion for years, which is a long time to remember information. I'm sure there are mistakes in the archives. I had to make a lot of guesses while putting story information in the automated database, such as the season a story is set in, genre of story, etc. If you find errors, please, please let me know what they are so I can make corrections. I would also like to see this archive be as accurate as possible. Thank you for your help and continued patience.

So You Want to Archive A Story Here . . .

• Your story must be complete. That is, it must have a beginning, middle and end, in roughly that order. In Progress stories will not be accepted.

• Your story must be relatively free of grammar mistakes and typos. This isn't hard to do: most word processors come with spell-checks and grammar checks. The story doesn't need to be perfect but, remember, you are being judged by the quality of your work. If you don't care about your story being clean and easy to read, why should someone else care about reading it?

• Your story must have a title. "Untitled" is not a title.

• Your story must be related to Sliders. Crossovers are accepted, as are original Slider stories and characters. Have fun, but remember what archive you're at in the process.

• Your story must be rated R or lower. This is not an adult site and I'd like to keep it that way. Stories containing sexual material may be accepted as long as there's more story than sex.

• Your story must contain the following information for the search engine: title, author, author's email address, rating, season, short summary, genre (eg. humor, drama, action).

• Your story must be saved as a plain text or RTF file. No other formats will be accepted. Attachments are fine.

• The archivist retains the right not to archive any story for any or no reason.
