Background

Purpose.Jobs is a Detroit-based hiring platform that connects top talent with purpose-driven startups and tech companies across the Midwest. Launched in 2017, it quickly became the region’s largest startup and tech community by focusing on culture fit and values. The platform helps companies like Ford and Rocket Mortgage find skilled professionals through targeted digital recruiting. In 2025, Purpose.Jobs was acquired by The Muse, expanding its reach and impact.

The Challenge

Purpose.Jobs needed to grow their presence in a competitive hiring space, but their previous campaigns struggled to deliver consistent, high-quality leads, especially on a limited budget. Their biggest challenges were: 1) attracting top talent, and 2) connecting companies with the right candidates. They partnered with Galactic Fed to collaborate on optimizing campaigns, improving lead quality, and driving more customers, ultimately boosting revenue.

Our Solution

Galactic Fed launched Search and Display campaigns on Google Ads, focusing on generating high-quality leads instead of just increasing volume. By using long-tail keywords tailored to the job market, we helped Purpose.Jobs to compete with larger hiring platforms. We also separated targeting between job seekers and employers to ensure relevancy, and created a feedback loop between Google Ads and Purpose.Jobs’ CRM. This helped us optimize for cost per marketing-qualified lead (CPMQL) and refine our approach.

As we continued to refine the strategy, we introduced Smart Display campaigns and remarketing ads to drive more conversions. We also revamped landing pages to improve the user experience, which resulted in a 124% increase in qualified leads, a 40% decrease in cost-per-action (CPA), an 87% increase in click-through rate (CTR), and a 274% increase in display CTR. These efforts led to a significant increase in leads and helped Purpose.Jobs grow revenue by improving lead quality and cost-efficiency.
